Entry Specifications

1. 1: Eligibility:

   • The competition is open for Indian nationals only
   • Artists and art practitioners can apply in either of the two categories on the basis of age; i) 10 to 20 years and ii) 21 years and above
   • Participants can submit their entries in the following categories: Painting, Mural, Sculpture and Photography
   • Artworks must be original and created solely by the artist. AI-generated, reproduced, or replicated works will be disqualified.

2. 2: Number of Entries:

   • Each participant may submit a maximum of two entries.
   • An entry may include one artwork or a series of up to four artworks under the same project. Multi-panel works will be treated as a single entry, with total dimensions not exceeding 4 ft × 4 ft.

3. 3: Artwork Requirements:

   • Maximum dimensions and weight:
     • Painting & Photography: max 4ft × 4ft, max 10 kg
     • Sculpture & Mural: max 4ft × 4ft, max 20 kg
   • Artworks must have been produced after 2021.
   • Artwork images must be submitted as JPEG, 300 DPI, with file size not exceeding 10 MB.
   • For mural and sculpture submissions, we kindly request artists to upload images from all angles.

4. 4: Artist Information & Documentation:

   • Full Name
   • Age
   • Email and Mobile Number (for all communication)
   • Address (City, Pincode, State)
   • Passport-sized photograph
   • Student ID (if applicable)
   • Artist Bio (250 words)
   • Artist resume (including education, shows participated in, publications, symposiums and panel discussions, and awards won)
   • Link to Artwork needs to be sent via a Google Drive open link or Dropbox

5. 5: Submission Fee:

   • This year there is no fee for participating in the competition.

6. 6: Submission Timeline:

   • Opening Date: 15th June, 2026
   • Closing Date for Online Submission: 29th July, 2026

7. 7: Additional Requirements:

   • Artists must submit a 250-word write-up for each artwork/entry. Use this space to tell us a story and the intention behind the artwork you have created.
   • Artists must mention if the artwork has been or will be part of any other exhibition or contest.
   • Mention artwork sales price (MRP)

8. 8: Shortlisting & Confirmation:

   • Entries will undergo a jury selection process.
   • Shortlisted artists will be notified via email at least 3 weeks prior to the exhibition.
   • Artists must respond within 3-5 working days after notification, or their entry will be disqualified.
   • Physical artworks should only be sent after confirmation from the organisers.

9. 9: Shipping & Packaging (for selected artworks):

   • Each artwork must be securely packed and shipped with proper care to prevent any damage. Please note that the organiser will not be responsible for any damage incurred during transit. Artists are responsible for the insurance of their works.

10. 10: Exhibition & Sale:

    • Selected works will be exhibited at Kanan - The Art Space for a week and will be exhibited and promoted across online platforms.
    • All exhibited works will be retained by Kanan – The Art Space for three months after the exhibition, based on personal consultation.
    • Artists must state the sale price of their artwork; a 35% commission will be retained by Kanan – The Art Space on all sales.
